It’s hard to believe that summer is pretty much over, the air is getting crisper, school is starting and so is our season. Right after Labor Day is when everything kickstarts for us at the Opera and the company goes into high gear. For me, it’s a time of great excitement and yes, more than a little bit of anxiety – because life in the world of opera is never a sure thing. At the beginning of every new season I always feel like I’m standing on the edge of the cliff getting ready to jump off and hoping that my parachute will open properly. But after I close my eyes, say a little prayer, gulp and make the leap of faith, the parachute opens and the ride is thrilling, so (gulp) …
